Jimmy Tang received his black belt from Jean Jacques Machado in 2008 after beginning training in 2001. Over the course of his short career, he has not only amassed an impressive resumé of tournament victories around the nation, he has proven to be a successful coach of other world class grapplers. When not competing or coaching, he has developed a reputation as a respected referee for the World Grappling Games and US Grappling leagues.

Jimmy's unique experience has helped shape his well-rounded game based on an understanding of solid fundamentals where he is able to improve or finish from any position, something that has become central to his teaching style. The key to success is not just training hard, but also training smart.
